Buyer Beware!

Quite a few years ago I imported some birds from a fancier in Wales. He told me that he had received an enquiry from a fancier in Canada for Welsh Union bands. The only purpose for having Welsh bands sent to Canada would be to place them on young birds here with the intention of having other fanciers believe that they were imported birds.

I wonder how often this occurs? No matter which way we look at it fraud is involved and there are some people who do not hesitate to profit this way. Be very wary when you are offered "imported" birds, do a lot of checking. Reputable fanciers do not use this practice and they are the people to deal with.
